An inspirational process that offers the pre-school children opportunities to achieve, develop in confidence and self-esteem through hands on learning experiences in a local woodland.
The Nursery has access to a natural woodland area which the pre-school children visit weekly.
We have four staff qualified in level 3 forest schools. They take a group of children to the woodland to carry out tasks in different ways with first hand contact with weather, seasons and the natural world. They are able to explore using their senses, understand risks, and be inspired by positive outdoor experiences. The approach enables children to learn boundaries, initiate and solve problems which gives them greater independence in their learning.
Children enjoy treasure hunts, learning about different animal habitats, identifying different fungi, tree climbing, den building, crafting using natural resources and participating in a campfire.
Waterproof all in ones are provided to ensure this activity is accessed all weathers.
